 Title    Ternäre Carbide von Cr, Mo und W mit Platinmetallen Ternary Carbides of Cr, Mo and W with Platinum Metals  
 Abstract    Ternary high temperature carbides were found in the system Cr-Ru-C, Cr-Rh-C, Cr-Ir-C, Cr-Pt-C, Mo-Ru-C, Mo-Rh-C, Mo-Os-C, Mo-Ir-C, Mo-Pt-C, W-Ru-C, W-Rh-C, W-Os-S and W-Pt-C. The com-pounds crystallize in the face centered cubic structure. The carbon content changes system-atically with the content and the valence electron concentration of the respective platinum metal.

 Title     
 Abstract    Oxygen The oxygen partial pressure above sup-ported, coordinatively unsaturated Cr 11 , V 111 , Mo 11 and Mn 11 species was measured with a Zr02 cell. Within this series the pressure ranges from 10~ 6 to 10 -11 ppm 02, with the Mn n /Si02 systems exhibiting the lowest values of 10~ 10 -8 and 10" 11 -3 . Other pertinent properties like chemiluminescence with 02 and catalytic activity in ethylene polymerisa-tion are also indicated. The manganese(II) absorption masses are thus particularly suitable for removal of traces of oxygen from liquids and gases in general but especially from polymerizable olefins.

 Title    Cascade Reaction of Camphor-Derived Diynes with Transition Metal Compounds  
 Abstract    Platinum(II) catalyzes the isomerization o f camphor sulfonamide diynes in a cascade reaction involving annulation o f a five-membered ring to the camphor skeleton, ring-enlargement by C-C bond cleavage, reduction o f sulfur(VI) to sulfur(IV), and oxidation o f a hydroxy group to a ketone. The reactions o f the diynes with other transition metal compounds were also studied. Copper, gold and rhenium give final products similar to those obtained with simple Br0nsted acids or halogens, mainly by annulation o f a five-membered ring to the camphor moiety, accompanied by reduction o f a sulfonamide to a sulfinamide group, but lacking the ring-enlargement step. Palladium(II) occupies an intermediate position as both types o f products are obtained. The reaction mechanism and intermediates are discussed.

 Title    Neue Siloxanverbindungen einiger Übergangsmetalle Silicon Compounds with Strong Intramolecular Steric Interactions, VIII [1] New Siloxane Compounds of Some Transition Metals  
 Abstract    Tri-£er£-butylsiloxane compounds of transition metals are obtained by two different routes, one of these involves condensation of tri-Zer£-butylsilanol with the binary oxides V2O5, CrC>3, M0O3, and Re2Ü7, while the other proceeds via a similar reaction between the chlorides VOCl3, NbCls, TaCls, Cr02Cl2, and the silanol. The new compounds, having good thermal stability and remarkable resistence to hydrolysis, are characterized by IR, 1 H NMR, and mass spectra.
