 Title    Die Kristallstruktur von [Na(H20)3]2TeBr6, ein Hydrat mit Ketten aus flächenkondensierten Na(H20)6-Oktaedern The Crystal Structure of [Na(H20)3]2TeBr6, a Hydrate with Chains of Face-Sharing Na(H20)6 Octahedra  
 Abstract    Using 293 K diffractometer intensity data the structure of [Na(H20)3]2TeBr6 has been determined by single crystal X-ray technique and refined to a final Rw of 0.048. The crystals are monoclinic (space group C2/m) with a — 13.039(4) A, b = 10.899(8) A, c = 6.838(3) A, ß = 115.89(2)° and Z = 2. The structure contains infinite chains parallel [001] built up by face-sharing Na(H20)6-octahedra. Isolated TeBrß 2-octahedra between these chains represent the anion part of the structure, which can be regarded as a packing of layers based on a 3 3 .4 2 .-net consisting of oxygen and bromine atoms.

 Abstract    The title compound contains the anions [TeBr 3 Cl 3 ] 2_ and [TeBr 4 Cl 2 ] 2_ in a 1:1 ratio. The corresponding point symmetries, detected by Raman spectroscopic methods, are 3 m and 4/mmm, respectively. The crystal structure analysis exhibits a random distribution of these anions: K 2 PtCl 6 -type, space group Fm3m with a = 10.4602(5) Ä and Z = 4, final R = 0.036 from 178 F n (MoKa). Einführung

 Abstract    Single crystals of (Mn2.4Cu0 6)Te06 (I), Ba2MnTe06 (II) and Pb(Mn0 5Te0 5) 0 3 (III) have been prepared by crystallization from fluxes. X-ray investigations led to rhombohedric sym­ metry (I): R3, (II): R3m with the trigonal lattice constants (I): a = 8.826(1), c = 10.687(2) Ä, Z = 2. (II): a = 5.817(8), c = 14.244(3) A, Z = 3. Compound (III) crystallizes with cubic symmetry P43m, a = 4.045(3) A, Z = 1. (I) is the first example of a manganese(II) tellurate and belongs to the structure type of A3X 0 6 compounds like (Mn2In)Sb06, Mn3W 0 6 and Ca3U 0 6. (II) exemplifies an ordered and (III) a disordered variation of the perovskites.

 Title    Synthese und Kristallstruktur des Lanthan-Titanat-Tellurats LaTi  
 Abstract    (Ti0 2 5Te0j 5)O6 und seine Verwandtschaft mit PbSb20 6 und Sr(MnTe)06 Synthesis and Crystal Structure of the Lanthanum Titanate Tellurate LaTi(Ti0 25Te0 75) 0 6 and its Relationship to PbSb20 6 and Sr(M nTe)06 L. Single crystals of LaTi(Ti0 25T e o .75) 0 6 have been prepared by solid state reactions. X-ray investigations led to trigonal symmetry, space group C3-P3 , a = 5.141(10), c = 5.218(10) A, Z = 1. The compound is characterized by a predominantly ordered distribution of Ti4+ and Te6+. Typical features of the crystal structure are staggered layers containing edge connected T i0 6 and (Ti,Te)06 octahedra. The layers are connected by La3+ ions receiving an octahedral coordination by the surrounding oxygen ions. The relationships to the PbSb20 6 type and the recently described compound Sr(M nTe)06 are discussed.

 Abstract    Single crystals of the hitherto unknown compound SrM nT e06 have been prepared from Sr(0H)2-8H20 , M n C 0 3(aq) and T e 0 2 in air by crystallization below the melt range. X-ray in­ vestigations showed hexagonal symmetry, space group D3h-P62m, lattice constants a = 5.143(1), c = 5.384(2) A, Z = 1. SrM nTe06 is characterized by staggered [(Mn/Te)60 18] Kagome layers along [001]. These layers are connected by Sr2+ ions, resulting in S r0 6 prisms isolated from each other. The structure is discussed with respect to the connection of Kagome nets in the quaternary oxides of the Ba3Ln40 9 type.

 Title    Isolierte ^[TeOs]-Oktaederketten im Bleitellurat Pb2T e05 Isolated ^ [Te05] Chains of Octahedra in the Lead Tellurate Pb2T e05  
 Abstract    Single crystals of Pb2T e0 5 have been prepared by flux techniques. X-ray investigations showed a new crystal structure with monoclinic symmetry, space group Cj-Cc, a = 13.099(3), b = 5.714(1), c = 7.520(2) Ä, ß = 123,80(3)°, Z = 4. Pb2T e 0 5 is characterized by o[o[Te05] chains of octahedra isolated from each other and incorporated into an edge, corner and face connected frame of P b 0 7 polyhedra. Possible positions o f the lone pair o f electrons of Pb2+ are estimated by calculations of Coulomb terms of lattice energy.

 Abstract    Cuj^Znj^TeOg, mit einer Notiz über Cul95Co1?5T e06 On the Crystal Chemistry of the Copper(II) Zinc Tellurates Cu5Zn4Te30 ,8 and Cu, 5Zn, 5Te06 with a Note on Cu, 5Co, 5Te06 L. Single crystals of Cu5Zn4Te30 , 8 (I), Cu, 5Zn, 5Te06 (II) and Cu, 5Co, 5Te06 (III) have been prepared and investigated by X-ray work. The structure of (I) was solved in the monoclinic space group C^-C2, a = 14.834(2), b = 8.801(1), c = 10.375(2) Ä, ß = 93.27(2)°, Z = 4. (II) and (III) crystallize with cubic symmetry, space group Th-Ia3, a{U) = 9.557(1), a(III) = 9.570(1) Ä, Z = 8. (I) shows a complicated structure formed by Te06 octahedra isolated from each other, Zn20 6 double tetrahedra and Zn20 8 double square pyramids. These polyhedra are incorporated into a network of edge and corner connected stretched C u06 octahedra. (II) and (III) are isotypic to Cu3T e06 and have a (Cu/M)30 6 octahedra network, statistically occupied by Cu2+ and Zn2+ or Cu_+ and Co2+.

 Abstract    Kristallstruktur von [(CH3)4N]2TeCl6 und über die Einschlußverbindung [(CH3)4N]2(CH3CN)TeCl6 The Crystal Structure of [(CH 3)4N]2TeCl6 and the Inclusion Com pound [(CH3)4N]2(CH 3C N)TeCl6 W alter Abriel* Both title com pounds show an antifluorite-like arrangement o f (C H 3)4N + cations and TeC l62~ anions. The remaining octahedral holes in this array can be filled with C H 3CN m olecules forming the inclusion com pound by crystallization from C H 3CN solution. [(C H 3)4N ]2TeC l6 (space group F d 3c with a = 25.791(3) Ä at 265(5) K and Z = 32) contains almost regular TeCl62-octahedra. In contrast, in [(CH 3)4N ]2(C H 3C N)T eC l6 (space group Cmcm with a = 12.765(6), b = 14.349(7), c = 12.716(3) Ä and Z = 4) the anion is statically distorted with the approximate point symmetry 4 mm. A t tem peratures above 320 K the solvent m olecules can be rem oved yielding the F d 3c phase. Finally, structural relationships betw een antifluorite-like phases A 2B X 6 and elpasolites A 2B 'B X 6 considering halogenides and cyanides are discussed.

 Abstract    From theoretical considerations a dynamically distorted octahedron as a result of vibronic coupling between the ground state and the first excited state should exist for 14 electron AX6E systems like TeX62-. A high symmetry crystal field yielding at least a center of symmetry for the Te position stabilizes this fluctuating structure, otherwise statical distortion will be observed. From X-ray diffraction experiments on antifluorite type compounds A 2TeX6 (A = Rb, Cs; X = Cl, Br) the averaged structure (m 3m symmetry) of the anions was found even at very low temperatures. The thermal parameters are not significantly different from those of similar S n X ^ -compounds. Distortions therefore are very small and are evident from FTIR spectroscopic meas­ urements only. Here very broad T lu-deformation vibration bands are observed down to tempera­ tures <10 K without splitting: A statically distorted species could not be frozen out. In contrast to XeF6 for TeX62~ the energy gap between the threefold, fourfold or sixfold minima of the potential surface (according to the symmetry of one component of the T ,u-vibration) is very small and shifted to temperatures lower than reached with the devices used for these experiments.
