| Abstract | Square planar iridium (I) complexes of sulfur monoxide and sulfur dioxide undergo oxidative addition with dihydrogen and hydrogen chloride. The resulting hydrido-iridium(III) complexes have been characterized by 'H , 3IP NM R and IR spectroscopy. The limited stability of the sulfur monoxide derivatives is explained as resulting from decreased back-bonding between iridium and sulfur. | ||
