 Title    Corrugatin, a Lipopeptide Siderophore from Pseudomonas corrugata  
 Abstract    From the culture medium of the phytopathogenic bacterium Pseudomonas corrugata, a lipopeptide siderophore was isolated that comprises interesting structural elements such as cyclic condensation products of the two amino groups of 2,4-diamino butyric acid with the carboxyl group of a second amino acid, and the rarely encountered L-threo-ß-hydroxy histi­ dine.

 Title    Burkholderia (Pseudomonas) cepacia* *  
 Abstract    In addition to the known hydroxam ate siderophores ornibactin C6 and C8 a catecholate siderophore named cepaciachelin, l-N -[2-N ',6-N '-di(2,3-dihydroxybenzoyl)-L-lysyl]-l,4-dia-minobutane, was isolated from a Burkholderia (Pseudomonas) cepacia PHP7 culture and its structure elucidated by chemical degradation and spectroscopic methods. This is the first case of a member of the Pseudomonas group which cholate siderophores.

 Title    Corynebactin, a Cyclic Catecholate Siderophore from Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC 14067 (Brevibacterium sp. DSM 20411)  
 Abstract    From cultures of Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC 14067 (Brevibacterium sp. DSM 20411) a catecholate sid­ erophore could be isolated. It comprises three identical units consisting of L-Thr, Gly and 2,3-dihydroxybenzoic acid which form a tri-lactonic macrocycle -the second example of this structural type.

 Title    Staphyloferrin B, a Citrate Siderophore of Ralstonia eutropha  
 Abstract    + 4 9 -2 2 1 -4 7 0 -5 0 5 7 . E-mail: h.budzikiewicz@uni-koeln.de The structure and stereochemistry of the siderophore isolated from the culture medium of Ralstonia eutropha (formerly Alcaligenes eutrophus) could be elucidated as staphyloferrin B by spectroscopic methods and chemical degradation. The relationship of the three species of the new genus Ralstonia is reflected in the observation that all three form citrate sidero-phores.
