 Title    Photochemistry of Selenol Esters  
 Abstract    Depending upon the structure of the start-ing compounds, seleno-photo-Fries products or cyclization products (phenenthrenequinone or selenoxanthone) are obtained in novel photoreactions from areneselenol esters of aromatic carboxylic acids.

 Abstract    In the pyrolysis of 1,2,3-benzoselenodiazole using a short-distance furnace, a short-lived intermediate is detected photoelectron spectroscopically. Mass spectra recorded under similar conditions suggest an isomer CöHiSe rearranging to the more stable final product 6-fulveneselone. The ionization pattern obtained by computerized spectra stripping is assigned to benzselenirene by molecular radical cation state comparison based on MNDO calculations.

 Title    Bromierung von "Poly(l,4-diselenobenzol)"  
 Abstract    Poly(l,4-diselenobenzene)", obtained by reaction of 1,4-dibromobenzene with disodiumdi-selenide is shown to contain many different polymer sequences. Bromination of the polymer yields a variety of low molecular weight species thus confirming the non-uniformity of the polymer and giving some hints about its composition. The aryl-selenium-bromine compounds 1,4-benzene-diselenenyldibromide, 4,4'-di(bromoselenenyl)-diphenylseleniumdibromide, and bromo-bis(4-bromophenyl)selenonium hexachloroantimonate were fully characterised inclu­ ding X-ray structure determinations.
