 Abstract    P r o p e r tie s o f K S C N -r ic h M o lte n N a S C N -K S C N M ix t u r e s For molten (Na, K)SCN mixtures with more than 50 mol% KSCN the molar volume V m, electri­ cal conductivity, x, refractive index n, surface tension y and heat capacity CP were measured in dependence of composition and temperature, y exhibited the minimum at ca. 70 mol% KSCN and Cp was 148 JK_I mol-1 in the range of 413 to 471 K. The electronic polarizabilities of the ions in the molten state were estimated by the semiclassical Clausius-Mossotti equation.

 Abstract    n o m a lo u s B e h a v io u r o f th e M e a n D ip o le P o la r iz a b ility a o f N e o p e n ta n e C (C H 3) 4 in th e T e m p e r a tu r e R a n g e b e tw e e n 2 5 0 K a n d 3 6 0 K The temperature dependence of the dynamic dipole polarizability ot(Ä) of gaseous neopentane has been re-examined in the temperature range between T = 250 K and T — 360 K at the four HeNe-laser wavelengths a = 543.51 nm, 594.11 nm, 611.97 nm, and 632.99 nm. These interferometric mea­ surements are compared with former determinations of the dynamic as well as the static dipole polarizability in the solid, liquid and gaseous state. In all cases, a shape of a(T) in the range between 290 K and 310 K has been observed which is similar to the shape of a (A) in an absorption band. This observation is connected with other physico-chemical quantities of neopentane.

 Title    Frequency-and Temperature-Dependence of Second Refractivity Virial Coefficients  
 Abstract    A reasonable heuristic extrapolation of a theory given by Buckingham is used to estimate the frequency-and temperature-dependence of the second refractivity virial coefficient. The calculations are carried out for the atoms He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe and the small molecules H 2 , N 2 , 0 2 , HCl, C0 2 , N 2 0, NH 3 , CH 4 , C 2 H 4 , and SF 6 . In some cases the frequency-dependence of B R (co, T) is compared with experimental values, showing sometimes considerable deviations between experiment and the heuristic approach used in this work.
