 Title    Transition Metal Complexes with Sulfur Ligands, IV [1] Synthesis and Reactions of Mo (IV) Complexes with the Tetradentate Thioether-thiol Ligand 2,3,8,9-Dibenzo-l,4,7,10-tetrathiadecane  
 Abstract    Synthesis and characterization of non-oxo Mo(IV) complexes with the tetradentate thioether-thiol ligand 2,3,8,9-dibenzo-l,4,7,10-tetrathiadecane(dttd-H2) are reported. MoCl4(THF)2 reacts with dttd-H2 in THF at room temperature to give the paramagnetic (2.61 BM, 295 K) [Mo(dttd)Cl2]. The chlorine ligands in [Mo(dttd)Cl2] can be substituted by sulfur ligands yielding diamagnetic complexes as [Mo(dttd)(CeH4S2)], [Mo(dttd)(SC2HiS)] and [Mo(dttd)(SC2H5)2]; with Na2S, NaHS or H2S, the di-^-sulfido bridged complex [(dttd)Mo(S)2Mo(dttd)] is obtained. The reduction of [Mo(dttd)Cl2] by various reducing agents in the presence of CO or NO yields labile carbonyl and nitrosyl species in solution. In contrast to [Mo(dttd)Cl2], the complexes with MoSe cbromophores showed no reactivity to CO or NO under reducing conditions.

[Ru(N)(S 2 C 6 H 4 ) 2 r Transition Metal Complexes with Sulfur Ligands, XXVII* Synthesis and Reactivity of the Nitrosyl-and Nitrido-Ruthenium Complexes with 1,2-Benzenedithiolate Ligands [Ru(NO)(S 2 C 6 H 4 ) 2 ]~ and [Ru(N)(S 2 C 6 H 4 ) 2 ]~, Respectively  
 Abstract    The reaction of [Ru(NO) 2 (PPh 3) 2 ], [RuCl(NO) 2 (PPh 3) 2 ]PF 6 or [RuCl 3 (NO)(PPh 3) 2 ] with 1,2-benzenedithiolate(—2), C 6 H 4 S 2 : ~, leads to the 16e"-complex [Ru(NO)(S 2 C 6 H 4) 2 ]~, which was isolated as the NBu 4 + salt (1). The square pyramidal anion in [NBu 4 ][Ru(NO)(S 2 C 6 H 4) 2 ] coordi-nates PMe 3 with rearrangement of the sulfur ligands to give the six-coordinate cis-[NBu 4 ][Ru(NO)(PMe 3)(S 2 C 6 H 4) 2 ] (3); the rearrangement of the C 6 H 4 S 2 2 "-ligands from trans to eis coordination is proved by 13 C NMR spectroscopy. [Ru(NO)(S 2 C 6 H 4) 2 ]~ is rapidly reduced even under mild conditions. Reaction of 1 with NaBH 4 in MeOH leads to the reduction of NO to a nitrido ligand and the concomitant oxidation of (formal) Ru(III) to Ru(VI) yielding [NBu 4 ][Ru(N)(S^C 6 H 4)->] (2). This compound is also formed when the nitrosyl complex is reacted with SiMe 3 N 3 . [Ru(NO) 2 (PPh 3) 2 ] and [RuCl(NO) 2 (PPh 3) 2 ]PF 6 are denitrosylatedby dttd 2 ~ (dttd 2 " = 2,3,8,9-dibenzo-l,4,7,lÖ-tetrathiadecane(—2)) to give [Ru(dttd)(PPh 3) 2 ],

 Title    Preparation and Vibrational Spectra of M e2S n (0 2PM e2)2, Cl2S n (0 2PMe2)2 and A l( 0 2PM e2)3  
 Abstract    M e2S n (0 2PM e2)2 has been prepared from the reaction o f M e2P 0 2H and M e2SnS in benzene, and A l(0 2PM e2)3 and Cl2S n (0 2PM e2)2 have obtained from the reaction o f M e2P 0 2H with AlClj and SnCl4, respectively in C H 2C12. The vibrational spectra o f the com pounds were found to be consistent with polymeric structures with hexacoordinated metal atoms.

 Title    Diazadiphosphetidine Platinum(O) Complexes  
 Abstract    The reaction of Pt(COD)2 with cw-[RPNCR3]2 (1), R = CH3, affords the two-coordinate platinum(O) complex PtLo (2) (L = diazadiphosphetidine 1). In benzene solution PtL2, Pt2L3 (3) and L are in equilibrium. 2 and diphenylacetylene or fumaric acid dinitrile give the platinum diazadiphosphetidine complexes LoPt(PhCCPh) (4) and L2Pt[H(NC)CC(CN)H] (5), L = 1.

 Abstract    Substitutions-und Additionsreaktionen an Molybdän-und Wolfram-Schwefel-Zentren von |M (Cl)(NO)('S4)], M = Mo, W, mit Thiolaten SR" (R = Me, 'Pr, w Bu, Ph) und PM e3 ('S4'2-= l,2-Bis(2-mercaptophenylthio)ethan(2-)) Transition M etal Complexes with Sulfur Ligands, LXVI* Substitution and A ddition Reactions at M olybdenum and Tungsten Sulfur Centres of [M(Cl)(NO)('S4')], M = M o, W, with Thiolates SR " (R = Me, 'Pr, "Bu, Ph) and PM e3('S4'2~ = l,2-Bis(2-mercaptophenylthio)ethane(2-)) Since substrate addition and elim ination reactions are essential reactions o f metal sulfur centres in oxidoreductases, we investigated the substitution o f chloride in [Mo(C1)(NO)('S4')](1) ('S4'2-= l,2-Bis(2-m ercaptophenylthio)ethane(2-)) [4] and in the anal­ ogous tungsten complex [W (Cl)(NO)('S4')](2). The chloride ligands in 1 and 2 can easily be substituted by thiolates to give [M (SR)(NO)('S4')] (M = M o, R = Me 3a, 'Pr 3b, "Bu 3c, Ph 3d; M = W, R = Me 4 a , Ph 4b). For these substitution reactions an associative mechanism is suggested. The SR~ ligands act probably as o-n four electron donor ligands to give metal centres with an 18 electron configuration as also found in the amido complexes [M o(N R 2)(NO)('S4')] [4]. 1 and 2 react with PM e3 to yield the adducts [M(PMe3)(Cl)(NO)('S4')] (M = Mo 5, W 6), w hose N M R spectra indicate the formation o f two stereoisomers in a ratio o f about 2:3.

 Abstract    Salicylaldehyde derivatives and related ß-hydroxo aldehydes CHO-CR=CR'-OH react with CoMe(PMe3)4 via oxidative substitution to form low-spin d6 complexes mer-CoH(CO-CR=CR-0)(PM e3)3. Reductive elimination of acyl and hydride functions from cis positions at the metal is less favourable than in carbonyl cobalt intermediates through a pronounced stabilization by neutral phosphane cr-donor and dianionic acylenolato chelate ligands. Reactions of the hydride complexes with iodomethane or with protic acids HX afford octahedral molecular complexes raer-CoX(CO-CR=CR'-0)(PMe3)3 (X =1, OAc) and mer-CoX(CO-CR=CR'-0)(PMe3)2 (X = OAc, 0-C R '=CR-CH0) without opening of the acylenolato chelate ring.

 Abstract    Complexes raer-CoH(CO-CR=CR'-0)(PMe3)3 react with haloalkanes RX (X = Br, I) or with acids HX (X = Cl, Br) under elimination of dihydrogen. In both reactions a change of configu­ ration at the metal is brought about by directional steering through the hard/soft (acyl)enolato chelate ligands to form octahedral complexes raer-CoX(CO-CR=CR'-C))(PMe3)3 or sterically crowded ionic compounds [Co(CO-CR=CR'-0)(PMe3)4(3)]+ X-(X = C104) without opening of the (acyl)enolato chelate ring.

 Title    Darstellung und Reaktionen der Oxovanadin(V)-tricarboxylate Synthesis and Reactions of Oxovanadium(V) Tricarboxylates  
 Abstract    Monomeric oxovanadium(V) tricarboxylates VO(RCOO)3 are prepared by reaction of VOCI3 with an excess of silver carboxylate in CH2CI2 or by depolymerization of (V02RC00)n in carboxylic acid anhydride. Their properties are studied by IR and X H NMR spectroscopy as well as by chemical reactions such as thermolysis, solvolysis, redistribution and complex formation. The structure of 2,2'-dipyridyl and 1,10-phenanthroline complexes [VO(RCOO)3 • B] (B = C10H8N2, C12H8N2) has been found to be octahedral with meridional arrangement of the carboxylate ligands. Syntheses of Na[VO(CH3COO)4] and Ba[V02(CH3C00)3] • 2CH3COOH are described.

 Abstract    Potassium cobaltates K+CoLsL' -(L = MeaP, L' = N2, olefin) react with SnCl(CeHs^ or GeBr(CeH5)3 to give tetracoordinate complexes containing Co-Sn and Co-Ge bonds. Crystal and molecular structures of two single crystals were determined. They show tetrahedral molecules Co[Sn(C6Hs)3][P(CH3)3]3 in different packing order. Both tetra-coordinate compounds take up small ligands thereby completing their 18-electron valence shells in compounds Co[E(C6H5)3]L3L' (L = (CH3)3P; E = Ge, L' = CO; E = Sn, L' = CO, C2H4). A sparingly soluble paramagnetic adduct Co[Sn(C6Hs)3]L4 is believed to contain a tin-bonded phosphane. Allgemeines
