 Title    Eine neue Synthese von Fluorphosphonat-Komplexen des Palladiums und Platins A New Synthesis of Fluorophosphonato Complexes of Palladium and Platinum  
 Abstract    Addition of phosphorus(III) ligands, L (L = tertiary phosphine, phosphite) to the reaction mixture of allyldifluorophosphite (1) with (C 6 H5CN)2MCl2 (2) (M = Pd, Pt) was found to produce two types of products: after a shorter reaction period, monofluoro-phosphonate complexes of the previously known type £rans-L2MCl(POF2) (6) are obtained while over prolonged periods of time bis-fluorophosphonato complexes, Zrans-L2M(POF2)2 (7) are formed. By contrast, Bu"OPF2 (8) yields a mixture of «rans-L2PtCl(POF2) (6) and <rons-L2PtCl[(Bu"0)(F)P0] (10) (L = Ph3P), the latter originating from (Bu re O)2PF formed by ligand scrambling in Bu*OPF2; no products containing more than one fluorophos-phonate group are formed in this case. The new monofluorophosphite, (CH2 = CHCH20)2PF (10) was found to react rapidly with (C6H5CN)2PtCl2/L with formation of L2PtCl[(CH2==CHCH20)(F)P0] (11). Compound characterization was by IR, 19 F and 31 P NMR spectroscopy.

 Abstract    A series of mono and bis N,O-chelate complexes 1-32 with the mono and dianion of indigo and indigo derivatives (R3P)(C1)M(L-H+) (M = Pd.Pt), (r/3-allyl)Pd(L-H+), (PhiC=NCH->CO->Et-H+)Pd(L-H+), (PhN=NPh-H+)Pd(L-H+), (Q H 5)Fe(C5H3CH2NMe2)Pd(L-H+), [(R3P)(Cl)Pt]2(L-2H+), [(//3-allyl)Pd]2(L-2H+), [(C6H4CH2N M e2)Pd]2(L-2H+) with L = indigo, 4,4'-dichloro-, 6,6'-dichloro-, 6,6'-dibromo-, 6,6'-di-»Bu-, 4,4'-dichloro-, 5.5'dibromo-, 5,5', 6,6'-tetramethoxy-, 4.4'-di-S]2H25-, 5,5'-di-SO?Na-indigo, indigo malonic ester and tetrahydro indigo have been prepared from chloro bridged metal complexes. In comparison to the free neutral indigo ligands the complexes show a high bathochromic shift in the VIS spectra (150-300 nm) which is mainly due to the anionic character of the coordinated indigo ligands. The structure of [(Et3P)(Cl)Pt]2(indigo-2H+) has been determined by X-ray diffraction. Metallkomplexe von Farbstoffen, VIII [1]

 Abstract    Several quinine substituted derivatives at the C(9)-0 position (1 -7) have been obtained from quinine and N-protected glycine chloride, chlorocarbonyl ferrocene, phenylisocyanate, dicarboxylic acid dichlorides or trimesinic trichloride. From these only the glycine derivative 1 showed significant antimalarial activity in in vitro tests against Plasmodium falciparum

 Abstract    Pt(NH3)2(SCN)2 dissolved in liquid SO2 reacts with molecular iodine to yield a green lustrous solid of stoichiometry Pt(NH3)2(SCN)2I. The compound is diamagnetic in the solid state and in solution and has to be taken for a platinum(II, IV) mixed valence compound, therefore. Chemical and physical evidence so far suggest a linear chain solid with either iodide-bridged metal complex chains or metal complex stacks with parallel triiodide chains.

 Abstract    Dichloro-bis(triphenylphosphine)platinum(II) (2) and Dichloro-l,2-bis(diphenylphos-phine)ethane-palladium(II) (3) do react with hydrogensulfide and sodiumsulfide under formation of the corresponding compounds Di-hydrogensulfido-l,2-bis(diphenylphos-phine)ethane-palladium(II) (4), Disodiumsulfido-l,2-bis(diphenylphosphine)ethane-palla-dium(II) (7), Di-hydrogensulfido-bis(triphenylphosphine)platinum(II) (1) and Di-sodium-sulfido-bis(triphenylphosphine)platinum(II) (8). 2 and 3 react with sodiumhydrogen-selenide under formation of Di-hydrogenselenido-l,2-bis(diphenylphosphine)ethane-palladium(II) (5) and Di-hydrogenselenido-bis(triphenylphosphine)platinum(II) (6). IR and *H NMR spectra are reported.

The phase contains two structural elements: The Pt-atoms form tetrahedra, which are covered by bigger Ge-tetrahedra. The Na-atoms build a 3-D-network consisting of chains crossed under right angels.

 Title    A New Synthesis of Organodifluorophosphites and their Reactions with Platinum(II) Complexes  
 Abstract    Alkyldifluorophosphites, ROPF2 (R = ^-substituted benzyl group, neopentyl, 1-ada-mantyl) have been obtained by a new method, involving reaction of the appropriate alkyl trimethylsilylether, ROSiMe3 with chlorodifluorophosphine, PF2C1. Reactions of these difluorophosphites with platinum(II) complexes of the type [LaPtCla] (L = PEt3, PPI13) led to products such as irans-[L2PtCl(POF2)] and {[p-XC6H4CH2PPh3]+}2[Pt(POF2)4] 2 -, (X = H, Me, Cl, N02). The ease of carbon-oxygen cleavage in ROPF2 is characteristically related to the nature of the leaving group, R.

 Abstract    The isotypic compounds SrPt 4 P 6 , SrPt 4 As 6 and BaPt 4 As 6 were found to crystallize with a Pyrite-type derivative structure (monoclinic, C2/c, Z = 4) in which one Sr or Ba atom per formula unit occupies the position of a P 2 or As 2 pair. BaPt 2 P 3 forms another Pyrite-type related structure (monoclinic, I > 2 1 /c, Z = 4) built up by Ba 2 Pt and Pt 3 P 6 layers. All crystal structures were refined from four-circle diffractometer data, the lattice constants are:

 Abstract    Single crystals of the phase NaBa4Cu0 5P t1 s0 8 were prepared in closed silver tubes. The black and moisture sensitive crystals were investigated by four-circle diffractometer X-ray tech­ niques. They show trigonal symmetry, space group D2-P321, a = 10.0644, c = 8.3811 A, Z = 3 and belong to the perovskites. The typical M20 9 double octahedra are occupied by Pt4+ and Cu2+ in a different manner. Na+ is partly in and out of the centres of trigonal prisms of oxygen. These features will be discussed with respect

 Abstract    Reactions of B a C 0 3, ZnO and Yb20 3 mixtures at temperatures up to 1300 °C using plati­ num crucibles led to yellow needles of B a17Y b 16Zn8Pt40 57. The compound crystallizes with a hitherto unknown tetragonal crystal structure, space group C-4h-I4/m, a = 22.731(1), c = 5.682(1) A , Z = 2. The crystal structure is characterized by P t 0 6 octahedra and tetragonal Z n 0 5 pyramids. Yb3+ shows a mono-capped trigonal prismatic coordination and Ba2+ several different coordination environments (C .N = 9 to 10, by O2"). The relationship to the Ba5Ln8M40 2i type is discussed.

 Abstract    Reactions of mixtures of B aC 03, ZnO, Sm20 3 (3:5: 1) heated in platinum crucibles up to 1250 °C led to big black single crystals of Ba4Sm4Zn3P t0 15. The new compound crystallizes with hexagonal symmetry, space group C^-Pö^mc, a = 1 L657, c = 6,789 A , Z = 2. It is isotypic with Ba6Nd2Al4O l5 but shows an ordered Pt4+ and Zn2+ distribution over the aluminium positions. The octahedrally coordinated barium sites of the Ba6Nd2Al40 15 type are occupied by Sm3+. In comparison to compounds of the composition Ba6Ln2M40 15 (M = Al, Fe, Co), Ba4Sm4Zn3PtOi5 is the first example containing different oxidation states at the M '+ positions.

 Abstract    Single crystals of Bai3Dy8Zn4Pt40 37 have been prepared by reaction of mixtures of BaC03, ZnO and Dy20 3 at temperatures up to 1225 °C using platinum crucibles. X-ray investigations led to a new crystal structure with tetragonal symmetry, space group C4h-I4/m, a = 18.659(7), c = 5.734(2) A, Z = 2. The structure is characterized by P t0 6 and B a06 octahedra as well as by tetragonal Z n 0 5 pyramids and single capped trigonal prisms of oxygen around dysprosium. The remaining barium positions show coordination numbers of nine and ten. The crystal structure has large ^ [(PtDy40)6)4] polyhedra tunnels. Considering the 1 [Ln4O l6]20_ polyhedra groups some parts of the structure show similarities to BaZnLn20 5, B a ^ n 4Ln8Ö2i and Ba2Ln2ZnPt08.

 Abstract    Single crystals of B a|7D y16Zn8Pt40 57 (I), Ba17HO|6Zn8Pt40 57 (II), BaI7Er16Zn8Pt4057 (III) and Ba17Y 16Zn8Pt40 57 (IV) have been prepared by high temperature reactions using platinum crucibles. X-ray investigations led to tetragonal symmetry, space group C4h -I4/m, (I) -(IV): a = 22.905(1), 22.840(1), 22.795(1), 22.848(1) Ä and c = 5.728(1), 5.722(1), 5.700(1), 5.709(1) A, Z = 2. The crystal structure is characterized by small square, medium-sized quadrangular and large rectangular tunnels, which are filled by oxygen, barium and zinc. The polyhedra network is discussed with respect to the network of compounds of the Ba13D y8Zn4Pt40 37 type.

 Abstract    The reaction o f m -(P h 3P)2PtCl2 with BOC-N-glycine and FMOC-N-alanine gives the carboxylate coordinated complexes as-(Ph3P)2Pt(Cl)(0 2CCH2N HB0 C) (1) and cis-(Ph3P)2Pt(C l)(02C C (H)(M e)N H FM 0C (2). Chloride and proton abstraction from 1 affords the N,Ö-chelate complex (Ph3P)2 P t(0 2C CH2N B 0C) (3). From the chloro-bridged compounds [Cp*MCl2] 2 (M = Rh, Ir), [(/?-cymene)RuCl2] 2 and BOC-N-L-MetGlyOH (L) the compounds Cp*M (Clj2L (4, 5) and (/?-cymene)Ru(Cl)2L (6) with the mono-dentate dipeptide are obtained which in the presence o f NaOMe form Ö,N,S-bis(chelate) complexes 7 -9 . The X-ray dif­ fraction analysis of the iridium 0,N,S chelate complex 8 shows a five membered and a seven membered chelate ring.

 Title    Metal Complexes of Heteroarenes, X [1]. 7 7 1 -Coordination of Phosphinine: Synthesis and Structure of cis-Dichloro-bis(2,6-dimethyl-4-phenyI-phosphinine)platinum  
 Abstract    C/5-Dichloro-bis(2 ,6 -dimethyl-4 -phenyl-77'-phosphinine)platinum (3) has been prepared by ligand substitution from cis -dichloro(2,5-cyclooctadiene)platinum and characterized by spec­ troscopy ('H , 13C, 31P NMR, IR, UV-Vis), CV and X-ray diffraction (space group P2|/c, a = 14.998, b = 16.540, c -11.506 Ä, a = 7 = 90°, ß = 92.46°, Z = 4). In line with findings for simi­ lar P hybridization states, the Pt-P bond length (221 pm) in 3 equals that in 771 -phosphaalkene Pt complexes and falls short of the respective parameters in Pt phosphane species. The stretching frequencies u^c\ and the bond length Pt-Cl indicate that phosphinines and phosphaalkenes, relative to phosphanes, adopt a lower position on the rram'-influence scale. This gradation is also suggested by the coupling constants 1 J (195Pt,31P).
