 Title    Synthese von Phosphaalkenclustern durch reduktive Phosphinidenfragmentierung zweizähniger Halogenphosphane R X P -C H 2-P X R mit Fe2(CO) 9 Synthesis of Phosphaalkene Clusters by Reductive Phosphinidene Fragm entation of Bidentate Halogenphosphines R X P -C H 2-P X R with Fe2(CO)9 F rank Bitterer  
 Abstract    Reaction o f halogen functional m ethylenebisphosphines 1 X R P -C H 2-P R X (X = CI, Br) with excess Fe2(CO)9 affords /^-phosphinidene clusters (5) containing phosphaalkene ligands R -P = C H 2. The fragmentation o f the P -C -P skeletons in 1 proceeds stepwise, phosphido complexes 2 and novel Fe3 clusters 3 with R P -C H 2-P R bridging units being formed as inter­ mediates o f the oxidative addition reductive elim ination process. The X-ray structural analysis for 5 b (R = N E t2) reveals an Fe3(C O)9PR butterfly core to which the phosphaalkene ligand R -P = C H 2 (P = C bond length 1.766(4) Ä) is coordinated in a //3,^-m anner. In case o f meth­ ylenebisphosphines 1 with bulky substituents (R = 2,4,6-/Pr3C6H 2) the phosphinidene frag­ mentation o f the P -C -P skeleton is accompanied by the form ation o f 2,3-dihydrobenzo[b]-phosphole ligands.

R om anenkob The metallo-phosphaalkenes (/75-C5Me5)(CO)2M -P = C (N R 2)2 (4a,b, 5) result from the reac­ tion of the corresponding bromo compounds (/75-C5Me5)(CO)2MBr with Me3Si-P = C (N R 2)2. The complexes 4a and 5a are cleanly converted into the l-metallo-l,2-dihydrophosphetes (//5-C5Me5)(CO)2M -PCH(E)-C(E) = C -NM e2 (lO a -c) (M = Fe, Ru; E = C 0 2Me, CN) by treatment with equimolar amounts of dimethyl fumarate or fumarodinitrile, respectively. The products 4a,b, 5 and lO a -c have been characterized by elemental analysis as well as by spec­ troscopic data (IR, 'H, 13C, 3IP NM R, MS). The molecular structures o f 4a and 10a have been determined by single crystal X-ray analysis.

 Abstract    Reactive E=C(p-p)-7r System s XLIII [1] Synthesis and Characterization o f P -Phosphino or P-A rsino Substituted Fluoro-phosphaalkenes of the Type R 2E -P=C (F)N Et2 (R = Me, C F 3, M e7N; E = R As) The easily accessible phosphaalkene HP=C(F)NEt2 (lb) reacts with halophosphanes or -arsanes R2EX (X = Cl, I) in the presence of NEt3 to give P-phosphino-or -P-arsino sub­ stituted fluorophosphaalkenes of the type RiE-P=C(F)NEti (2 -6) in high yields (60 -85 %) [R2E: (CF3)2P (2), Me2N(CF3)P (3), Me2P (4), (CF3)2As (5), M e2As (6)]. The analogous re-action of ib with CF3PI2 (molar ratio 1:2) unexpectedly leads to the triphosphetene Et2N

 Abstract    A simple route to 1,3-diphosphetanes [RPCF2]2 [R = Ph, Me, Bu'] is described. The phos-phaalkene intermediates RP=CF2, as well as the corresponding disulfides [R (S)PC F2]2 have been characterized. The crystal structures of [PhPCF2]2, and of the sulfides [Ph(S)PCF2]2 and [Bu'(S)PCF2]2 are reported.
