| The charge-transfer interaction of different nucleobases with Cu2+ has been investigated by means of ESR and optical absorption studies. It could be shown that cytosine forms the strongest complex. The greatest reduction of Cu2+ (that is, spin concentration) was obtained, however, with adenine.
