 Title    Flavonoid Aglycones from the Leaf Surfaces of Some Artemisia spp. (Com positae-Anthem ideae)  
 Abstract    Several species of the large genus Artemisia have been analysed for the flavonoid aglycone composition of their leaf exudates. These species belong to different taxonomic groups within Artemisia. Flavone and flavonol aglycones were found as the major flavonoid constituents of the leaf exudates. Many of these compounds were 6-methoxylated, with additional substitu­ tions at the 7-, 3'-and 4'-position of the molecule. In addition, 7,4'-substituted apigenin and luteolin derivatives and rarely also coumarin derivatives were encountered in some species. The observed substitution trends are in accordance with literature data. Taxonomic and eco­ logical aspects are briefly discussed.

 Title    External Accumulation of Biflavonoids on Gymnosperm Leaves  
 Abstract    Biflavonoids are well known to occur in many Gymnospermae. Here we report on their occurrence in epicuticular material of a num ber of species. Several compounds are charac­ terized by detailed NMR studies and FAB-MS. They are identified as amentoflavone, bilobe-tin, podocarpus-flavone A, sciadopitysin, dihydrosciadopitysin and cupressuflavone.

 Title    Terpenoids and Phenylethyl Esters from the Exudate of the Australian Plant Ozothamnus ledifolius (Asteraceae)  
 Abstract    The leaf exudate of O zotham nus ledifolius, previously reported to contain a series of flavonoid aglycones, mostly consists of a mixture o f terpenoids. From this res­ inous material we now identified four sesquiterpenes, a diterpenediol and two pentacyclic triterpene acids. In the phenolic portion we found three phenylethyl esters.
