 Title    Verbreitung von Iridoiden in der Gattung Verbena und einigen anderen Verbenoideae Iridoids in Verbena and Some Other Verbenoideae  
 Abstract    12 species of the genus Verbena and one Citharexylum species have been examined for iridoids. Besides the known compounds verbenaline, hastatoside, griselinoside, lamiide, ipolamiide and brasoside, two new iridoids, pulchelloside I (1) [2] and pulchelloside II (2) [3] have been isolated from Verbena species. The structures and absolute configurations of pulchelloside I and II have been determined by spectroscopical methods and some chemical reactions. Citharexylum solanaceum has been shown to contain lamiide and durantoside I. The distribution of the iridoids is in excel­ lent agreement with the taxonomic treatment of the genus Verbena by Schauer. The taxonomic significance of our data and some data from the literature regarding the classification of the sub­ family Verbenoideae is discussed.

 Title    Coumarins and Iridoids from Crucianella graeca, Cruciata glabra, Cruciata laevipes and Cruciata pedemontana (Rubiaceae)  
 Abstract    The coumarin and iridoid composition of Crucianella graeca, Cruciata glabra, Cruciata laevipes and Cruciata pedemontana has been studied. Daphnin and daphnetin glucoside do­ minated in C. glabra along with low concentrations of daphnetin, deacetylasperulosidic acid and scandoside. In C. laevipes and C. pedemontana were found the same coumarin glucosides along with six iridoid glucosides. In Crucianella graeca were found ten iridoid glucosides.

 Title    Iridoide aus einigen Teucrium-und Ajuga-Arten Iridoids in Some Teucrium and Ajuga Species  
 Abstract    of the genus Teucrium and 3 species of the genus Ajuga have been examined for iridoids. Besides the known compounds Harpagid, 8-O-Acetylharpagid, Ajugol, Ajugosid and Reptosid, which we have isolated from species of both genera, two new iridoids Teucardosid (1) [2] and Teuhircosid (5) have been isolated from Teucrium species only. The structure and relative configuration of the new compounds have been determined by spectroscopic methods fH-NMR, 13C-NMR, MS) and some chemical reactions. The taxonomic significance of our results is discussed.

 Title    Indoid Glucosides from Four Balkan Endemics of the Galium incurvum Group (Rubiaceae)  
 Abstract    The Balkan endemics G. mirum, Galium macedonicum, G. rhodopeum and G. aegeum, from the G. incurvum group, were screened for iridoid glucosides. Eleven known iridoid glucosides were isolated, identified and analysed for the first time in the investigated plants. The main components appeared to be asperuloside and/or the non-acetylated iridoid acids -deacetylasperulosidic acid, scandoside, monotropein. Phylogenetic relationships are discussed.
