 Title    Synthese und Kristallstruktur von [Au(AuNCO)(AuPPh3)8]Cl Synthesis and Crystal Structure of [Au(AuNCO)(AuPPh3)8]Cl  
 Abstract    The photolysis of Cr(CO)6 and Ph3PAuN3 (1:2) in thf yields the unstable cluster cation [(Ph3PAu)5Cr(CO)4]+ that slowly decomposes to form the new homometallic gold cluster [Au(AuNCO)(AuPPh3)8]Cl. The cluster compound crystallizes in form of red needles in the tetragonal space group 14 with a = 2214.1(3), c = 1408.9(2) pm, and Z = 2. The inner skeleton of the cluster with the symmetry C4 consists of a centered square antiprism of nine Au atoms with the square faces of the antiprism being bridged by the AuNCO group, and a C P anion, respectively. The shortest Au-Au distances exist between the central and the 8+1 peripheral Au atoms ranging between 263.5(1) and 270.6(3) pm, the four Au-Cl distances are 280(1) pm.

 Title    Bridging of Trigoldsulfonium Clusters by a Silver(I) Ion  
 Abstract    Treatm ent of tris[(triphenylphosphine)gold(I)]-sulfonium tetrafluoroborate with AgBF4 (molar ratio 2:1) in tetrahydrofuran affords a hepta-nuclear mixed-metal cluster trication {[(Ph3P)6Au6AgS2](thf)}3+ as the tetrafluorobor­ ate salt. The crystal structure of the compound has been determ ined by X-ray diffraction. The sil­ ver atom is found in a bridging position between the two Au3S units with short contacts to both sulfur atoms and to three out of six gold atoms. The coordination sphere of the silver atom is com plem ented by a tetrahydrofuran molecule. In di(tri)chlorom ethane solutions there is rapid site exchange of the silver coordination as shown by virtual equivalence of the phosphine ligands on the NM R time scale at ambient temperature.

 Title    (Triphenylarsine)gold(I) Complexes: Synthesis of an Oxonium Salt and Redistribution of the Arsine Ligands  
 Abstract    The reaction of [(Ph3As)AuCl] with Ag20 in the presence of NaBF4 in tetrahydrofuran affords three products, identified as [(Ph3As)4.Au]BF4 (40.3%), [(Ph3As)2Au]BF4 (16.4%) and {[(Ph3As)Au]3 0 }BF4 (17.3%). The properties of the main product agree well with recent literature data. The other two compounds are new and have been identified by their analytical, spectroscopic, and crystallographic data. The structures are isomorphous with those of the analogous Ph^P complexes. Variations in the stabilities are discussed in terms of kinetic and thermodynamic effects.
