 Abstract    Isolation and Id entification of the F la v o n (o l) glycosides of the Endive (Cichorium endivia Y..) and the Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L .) M. W öldecke und K . H errm ann For the first time, quercetin-3-/?-D-glucuronide, quercetin-3-/?-D-glucoside, quercetin-3-(O-malo-nyl) -/?-D-glucoside and luteolin-7-/9-D-glucuronide were isolated from lettuce and kaempferol-3-/?-D-glucuronide and kaempferol-3-/?-D-glucoside from endives as crystals. The flavonol glucuronides are the main glycosides. Moreover a glycoside was found in endives which is very probably iden­ tical with kaempferol-3-(O-malonyl) -/?-D-glucoside.
