 Title    Untersuchungen zum ternären System Bi/Te/O, II. Thermisches Verhalten und Koexistenzbeziehungen von Bi20 2Te  
 Abstract    Investigations o f the Ternary System Bi/Te/O, II. The Therm al Behaviour and the R elations o f Phase C oexistences o f B i20 2Te The phase Bi20 2Te exists in the pseudobinary system Bi203/Bi2Te3. The thermal behaviour of Bi2Ö2Te was determined by DTA and X-ray analysis: The phase exists up to 620 °C and decomposes into the solid phases Bi12TeO20, Bi10Te2O 19 [1] and liquid BiTe. The relations of the phase coexistences in the pseudobinary system and in the ternary area Bi20 3/Te02/Bi2Te3/Te were investigated by solid state reactions, chemical transport reactions, and by total pressure measurements.

 Title    Phasenbeziehungen und Chemischer Transport der Verbindungen im ternären System Re/Mo/O Phase Relations and Chemical Transport of the Compounds in the Ternary System Re/Mo/O  
 Abstract    In the ternary system Re/Mo/O four series of mixed oxides have been prepared by heating of powder samples and by transport reactions. The series are derived from the oxides R e 0 2, M o 0 2, 7 -Mo4O u und //-Mo40 |i and have compositions R e1_ vM ov0 2 (0 < x < 0.37), M o,_> .Re>0 2 (0 < v < 0 .4 2),7 -M o 4_-| Re-| 0 11 (0 < Zj < l),a n d /7-Mo4_.2Re-^Ö |, (0 < z 2 < 1). Contributions to the understanding of the transport mechanism were obtained from thermodynamic calculations. The composition of the mixed crystals obtained have been determined by EPM A and ICP-AES.

 Title    On the Chemical Transport o f Rhenium and Rhenium Oxides  
 Abstract    Synthesis and single crystal growth by chemical transport reactions o f rhenium and rhenium oxides is reported. Several transport agents like the mercury halides H gC l2, HgBr2, H g l2, tellurium tetrachloride and iodine have been employed the transport o f the rhenium compounds. Mass spectrometric experiments gave informations about the composition o f the gas phase. The transport reactions were traced by calculations based on the knowledge o f the gas phase species and their thermodynamical data.

 Title    Untersuchungen zum chemischen Transport intermetallischer Phasen, I: GeTe, SnTe, PbTe Investigations on the Chemical Transport of Intermetallic Phases, I: GeTe  
 Abstract    GeTe, SnTe, and PbTe have been prepared by chemical transport reactions with iodine as transport agent in the temperature range between T2 (800 -700 °C) and T , (700 -500 °C). The effective transport equilibria were determineted. Total pressure measurements in the system Ge-Te-I give the coexistence equlibria for condensed phases, and also for the gasphase equilibra. GeTe4 exists only as a metastable phase at lower temperatures and decom poses near 260 °C in GeTe and Te. Thermodynamic calculations show satisfactory agreement between calculation and experi­ ment.

 Title    Untersuchungen zum chemischen Transport von YX3 mit A1X3 und zur Existenz von gasförmigen und festen Komplexen YA13 X12 (X = Br, I) Investigations on the Chemical Transport Reaction of YX3 with A1X3 and on the Existence of Gaseous and Solid Complexes YA13 X 12 (X = Br, I) H  
 Abstract    The dominant gaseous complexes YAl3B r12 and YA13I 12 were generated in the chemical trans­ port reactions of YBr3 with AlBr3 and YI3 with A1I3. The enthalpy of formation Z\H£(YAl3B r12,gi298) = -484,5 ± 6 kcal/mol and the standard entropy S°(YA13B 12 g 298) = 290,0 ± 7,5 cal/K mol have been calculated. It follows from total pressure measurements of mixtures of YBr3 s with AlBr3 1 and YI3 s with A1I3 b respectively, that complexes YAl3B r12 s and YA13I 12 s do not exist up to the boiling points of the aluminium trihalides.

 Abstract    The heterogeneous reactions: 0 s 0 4 s = 0 s 0 4 g, 2 0 s 0 2,s = Oss + 0 s 0 4 g, Oss + 3 0 s 0 4 g = 4 0 s 0 3 g, 0 s 0 2s + 0 s 0 4 g = 2 0 s 0 3 g and the homogeneous reaction 0 s 0 4 " = 0 s 0 3 g + '/2 0 2 g were determined by total pressure measurements. From this and from chemical transport reactions of 0 s 0 2 and Os with Osmium tetroxide, the enthalpy of formation of gaseous 0 s 0 3 was computed to Z\H ß(0s03 g i98) = -40,0 ± 3 kcal/mol.
