 Title    Darstellung und Kristallstruktur von Na4Ga2S5. Ein Thiogallat mit i -[Ga2S5]4_ -Z weier-Doppelketten Preparation and Crystal Structure of N a4G a2S5. A Thiogallate with ],-[Ga2S5]4~-zweier-Double Chains  
 Abstract    T ransparent single crystals of N a4G a2S5 were obtained from a melt of N a2S, G a and S. N a4G a2S5 is monoclinic, space group P 2 l/c with a = 7.967(1), b = 6.133(2), c = 19.852(9) Ä, ß = 91.61(2)°, Z = 4. Its crystal structure was refined to a conventional R o f 0.033 for 1150 observed reflections. The structure of N a4G a2S5 is of a new type. It is characterized by infinite ribbon like thiogal­ late anions, ,J,-[Ga2S5] , which are built up by G aS4-tetrahedra (mean G a -S bond length 2.28 Ä) sharing apices and edges. The four crystallographically independent alkali cations are coordinated to six sulphur atoms in distorted octahedral configurations.

 Title    Die Kristallstruktur von RbCuSe4 The Crystal Structure of RbCuSe4  
 Abstract    Crystals of RbCuSe4 are orthorhombic, oP24, s.g. P 2 /2 /2 / (No. 19), Z = 4 with a = 5.541(2) A , b = 8.814(2) A , c -13.277(9) A. The crystal structure was determined from diffractometer data and refined to a conventional R of 0.019. RbCuSe4 is a pseudo-one-dim ensional com ­ pound, characterized by infinite polyanionic chains :J ;-[CuSe4]_. The atomic arrangement cor­ responds to that of « -N H 4CuS4.

 Title    Solventothermal Synthesis and Structure of the Polymerie Thioarsenates(III) (Et4N)2As6S10 and (Et4N)2As8S13  
 Abstract    Reaction o f (Et4N)C l with AS2S3 and NaaS in acetonitrile at 110°C affords the polym eric thioarsenate(III) (E u N ^ A söS io in which the cyclic [ A s . ^ ] 3-and chainlike [AS3S7]5-trinu-clear molecular building units are linked together through comm on sulphur atoms into infinite double chains. In contrast, reaction o f the same starting materials at higher temperatures (1 80°C) in water leads to formation o f a markedly denser phase (E u N ^ A ss S o , w hose thioarsenate(III) [A sgSi32—] anions exhibit a higher condensation grade. These likew ise double chains are com posed o f cyclic [AS3S6]3-and dinuclear [A s2Ss]4~ units with shared ip-AsS_^ tetrahedra corners. A nalogous treatment o f (Et4N)Cl with A s2Se3 and Na2Se in acetonitrile (T =l 10°C) yields (Et4N)[S eA sS e7].

 Abstract    Infinite Chains o f Y2(H2O)10[C6(COO)6] in Y 2[C6(COO)6] • 14H20 Colourless monoclinic single crystals of Y ^C ^C O O)^ • 14H20 were grown in aqueous silica gel (space group P 2 Jn, a = 847.5(1), b = 923.4(2), c = 1632.0(3) pm, ß = 100.33(1)°, Z = 2, 223 param eters, 1784 reflections, Rg = 0.0357). Y 3+ is coordinated by 5 water molecules and 3 oxygen atom s o f the mellitate anion in a dodecahedral fashion. Y 3+ and [C6(COO)6]6-ions are linked by coordinative bonds, yielding infinite chains o f com position Y 2(H 2O)10[C6(COO)6] extending parallel to [100], Hydrogen bonds connect adjacent chains.
