| The He(I) and He(II) photoelectron spectra of M[Co(CO)4]2 and M[Mn(CO)ö]2 complexes (M = Zn, Cd, Hg) are reported. Bands attributable to metal-metal bonds, metal d-levels and CO orbitals are assigned in agreement with a semi-ionic model, i.e. M 2+ and [M'(CO)"] -. Relativistic effects prove to be important in assigning these ultraviolet photoelectron spectra. | | |

| By reaction of M(CO)Ö (M = Cr, Mo, W) with the bifunctional aminophosphane Ph(NEt2)P-(CH2)4-P(NEt2)Ph (L-L) octahedral complexes (CO)4Mcw(L-L) are obtained. While it is shown by 31 P{ 1 H} NMR spectroscopy, that these complexes contain meso-and rac-(L-L) to a different extent, there is evidence from 13 C{ 1 H} NMR data obtained for the Mo complex, that the rac-ligand always prevails. As racemisation is observed when the Mo complex reacts with HBr to give (CO)4Mo-cis[Ph(Br)P-(CH2)4-P(Br)Ph] an SN 1 -mechanism is suggested for this reaction. | | |

| The novel doubly bridged /i-methylene iron complexes /M-[C(H)C02R]-^-C0[(??5.C5H5)Fe(C0)]2 (R = C2H5: 3a; R — ^Hg: 3b) have been syn-thesized by low-temperature photolysis of the corresponding alkyldiazoacetates 2 a and 2 b, resp., in the presence of [(r? 5 -CsH5)Fe(CO)2]2 (1) and characterized by means of their analytical data and IR, X H NMR and mass spectroscopy. The geometry of 3 b has been established by single crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. cr-Alkyl iron complexes of the type (^ 5 -C5H5)Fe(C0)2[CHRR'] are accessible from the corresponding diazoalkanes N2 = CRR'. | | |

| Synthese und Charakterisierung von 1,3,5-Hexahydrotriazin-Komplexen des Mo° und Movl  | | | Abstract
| Organo-substituted 1,3,5-hexahydrotriazine com plexes of the type (R N C H 2)3M o(C O)3 (R = CFI3, / -C 3 H 7 and CH2C6H 5) are obtained by ligand displacement from 7 6-C7H 8M o(C O)3 in high yields. These products have been characterized by 'H. 13C, 95Mo NM R, IR as well as mass spectroscopy and contain an electron-rich M o(C O)3 center bonded to the 1,3,5-hexahydrotriazine 6 e donor via three M o -N bonds. Oxidation o f the Mo° com plex l,3,5-(C H 3N CH 2)3M o(C O)3 with H20 2 under carefully controlled conditions allows iso lation of 1,3,5-(CH3N C H 2) 3M o 0 3 containing a M ovl center. Chemical and spectroscopic properties o f these com plexes are compared with those o f related Mo com plexes with neutral macrocyclic ligands containing N 3 donor sets. | | |
