 Title    Suillin, ein charakteristischer Inhaltsstoff von Röhrlingen der Gattung Suillus (Boletales) Suillin, a Characteristic M etabolite from Boletes of the Genus Suillus (Boletales)  
 Abstract    Fruiting bodies o f several S u illu s species contain a colourless com pound, suillin, which is concentrated in the cuticle o f the pileus. Its structure has been established as4-acetoxy-3-geranyl-g eran yl-l,2 -dihydroxybenzene (1) by spectroscopic evidence, conversion into a cyclic carbonate 2 and synthesis o f its deacetyl derivative 3.

 Title    Neue Terphenylchinone aus Mycelkulturen von Punctularia atropurpurascens (Basidiomycetes) [1] New Terphenylquinones from M ycelial Cultures of Punctularia atropurpurascens (Basidiom ycetes) [1]  
 Abstract    Three violet terphenylquinone pigments, 4'-hydroxyphlebiarubrone (2), 4',4"-dihydroxy-phlebiarubrone (3), 3/,4',4"-trihydroxyphlebiarubrone (4), and the already known pigment phlebiarubrone (1) were isolated from cultures o f Punctularia atropurpurascens. The structures o f the phlebiarubrone derivatives were determ ined by spectral evidence. The structure o f 3 was confirmed by synthesis from atromentin (6). Two strains o f the genus Punctularia obtained from CBS, were also found to produce these compounds, whereas with a third strain only the production o f 1 was observed. 3 did not exhibit any antim icrobial or cytotoxic activity. The other pigm ents showed weak antibacterial and cytotoxic activity.
