 Title    Dielectric Relaxation Study of Some Solutions Containing /3-Cyclodextrin and Dimethylsulfoxide  
 Abstract    Dielectric spectra have been measured up to 72 GHz at 20°C for solutions of /3-cyclodextrin (CD) in the following solvents over the whole solubility range of CD: dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), DMSO/ I,4-dioxane mixture (2:1 molar ratio), DMSO/water mixtures (2:1 and 1:2). The spectra are analyzed into a sum of Debye type spectral components. These are likely to be caused by different physical pro-cesses. The discussion shows (i) that there is a preferential CD-DMSO interaction, by far exceeding the CD-water interaction, and (») that, concerning CD-DMSO, a loose interaction can be distinguished from the formation of an inclusion complex.

 Title    Dielectric Relaxation of Diethylsulfoxide  
 Abstract    The dielectric loss spectrum of the title substance has been measured in its pure liquid state between 10 MHz and 72 GHz at 20°C. In comparison to the Debye function, it is slightly broadened towards the high frequency side. The maximum cor-responds to a relaxation time of 51 ps. In view of the molecu-lar size and viscosity, this is relatively long and thus indicative of associative intermolecular effects as in the case of the homol-ogous compound dimethylsulfoxide.

 Title    A Dielectric Relaxation Study of Diethylsulfoxide/ Tetrachloromethane Binary Mixtures  
 Abstract    The dielectric spectra o f diethylsulfoxide (DESO)/tetrachloromethane mixtures have been measured from 0.5 to 72 GHz at 20 °C. On the basis of the relation between the relaxation time and the DESO concentration a complex formation between DESO and tetrachloromethane is suggested.

 Title      
 Abstract    Relaxation spectra have been measured at 20°C for mono-, di-and triethanolamine in the pure liquid state and in a 0.6 mole fraction mixture with 1,4-dioxane. The general resemblance to the dielectric behaviour of alcohols and aminoalcohols shows that relaxation is governed by association effects. In this regard, several features point to significantly differing behaviour of the mono compound in comparison with both di-and triethanol­ amine.
