 Title    Flüchtige Terpene aus C era to cystis fim b ria ta Volatile Terpenes from Ceratocystis fim briata  
 Abstract    The volatile m etabolites of three strains o f Ceratocystis fimbriata (Ascomycetes) have been investigated. In the steam distillates of Strain 835 C several m onoterpene hy­ drocarbons and alcohols as well as other m etabolites could be identified. Mycelial growth and accum ulation o f the main components have been analyzed throughout the culture period on a defined synthetic cultural medium.

 Title    New Hexaketides Related to Sordariol in Sordaria macrospora  
 Abstract    Broths extracts of the fungus Sordaria macrospora afforded new hexaketides related to sor­ dariol: sordarial, the corresponding aldehyde, heptacyclosordariolone and cyclosordariolone, two cyclic compounds. The structure of these substances has been established by spectrometric methods.

 Title    4-Epidihydrocochlioquinone B and 14-Epicochlioqumone B, Antibiotics from Fermentations of the Ascomycete Neobulgaria pur a: Structure Elucidation and Effects on Platelet Aggregation  
 Abstract    14-Epicochlioquinone B (1) and 14-epidihydrocochlioquinone B (2) were isolated from sub­ merged cultures of Neobulgaria pura (Pers. ex Fr.) Petrak. 14-Epicochlioquinone B is a potent inhibitor of hum an and bovine platelet aggregation stimulated by different inducers. 14-Epidihydrocochlioquinone B does not inhibit the aggregation of platelets. In addition, both 1 and 2 exhibited cytotoxic and antimicrobial activites.

 Title    Isopulegol from Liquid Cultures of the Fungus Ceratocystis coerulescens (Ascomycotina)  
 Abstract    Ceratocystis coerulescens RW D 451 (Ascomycetes) was cultivated on defined synthetic culture medium containing glucose (3.0%), asparagine (0.1%), mineral salts and thiamine. 6 weeks oid cultures produced methyl heptenyl compounds, citronellol. citronellyl acetate, dihydro-far-nesol and a hitherto unknown m onoterpene alcohol. By GC/MS, 'H and l3C NMR spectroscopy, this alcohol could be identified as (—)isopulegol. So far, this monocyclic m onoterpene alcohol has not been described as a fungal metabolite.
