| Flavonoid Aglycones in the L eaf Resin o f Som e Cistus Species | | | Abstract
| Members o f the genus Cistus excrete a leaf resin that consists mainly o f terpenoids. This resin also contains methylated flavonoids as aglycones. Rare methyl deri vatives o f myricetin have been isolated from C. monspeli-ensis, along with uncommon methyl derivatives o f quer-cetin. Further flavonoids encountered in the leaf resin o f this and six further species are methyl derivatives o f kaempferol and quercetin, som e o f apigenin and in one species also o f luteolin. The results indicate that there might exist species-specific flavonoid patterns. | | |
