	Abstract	Chlorosiloxanes, Hydrolytic Formation, Chlorosilanoles During the reaction of Si2OCl6 with H20 in the gas phase the intermediate Si2OCl5OH has been observed by mass-spectrometry. Reactive intermediates like this are responsible for the formation of higher chlorosilanes by slow hydrolysis reactions of chlorosilanes and -siloxanes. Reaction products of inter-and intramolecular condensation reactions have been observed by GC-MS-methods.

	Abstract	The reaction of CpCo(CO)2 with thionylchloride in hexane affords the doubly bridged dimer (CpCoCl2)2. Whereas the same reaction in more polar solvents such as CH2C12 or thf gives the triply bridged dinuclear cations in the salt [(CpCo)2(^-C l)3]2 [Co2Cl6], no influence of the solvent is observed in the reaction of CpCo(CO)2 with thionylbromide, which results in the formation of the neutral dimer (CpCoBr2)2. The X-ray structure analysis of (CpCoBr2)2 shows two edge-sharing octahedra, while that of [(Cp*Co)2(^-C l)3]2[Co2Cl6] shows two face-sharing octahedra in the cation and two edge-sharing tetrahedra in the anion.

	Abstract	Trichloro-hydroxo-oxo-vanadate(V), Tetrachloro-oxo-vanadate(IV), Tetrachloro-oxo-vanadate(V), Crystal Structure Starting from vanadium which was not free of oxide, VC14 was prepared; its reaction with PPh4Cl in the presence of K2S5 in dichloromethane yielded PPh4[VOCl3OH]. From V 2S5, PPh4Cl and S2C12 in acetonitrile, sulfur crystallized first, then PPh4[VOCl4], and then (PPh4)2[VOCl4]-4CH3CN. Upon standing with the mother liquor at -18°C , the latter was con verted to (PPh4)2[VOCl4]-2CH3CN. According to its X-ray crystal structure determination, PPh4[VOCl3OH] (space group Pbca, a = 1105.5, b = 1920.8, c = 2242.8 pm, Z -8) has near ly square-pyramidal anions that are associated to chains by 0-H --C1 bridges. PPh4[VOCl4] is isotypic with AsPh4[VOCl4] and has strictly square-pyramidal anions (space group P4/n, a = 1254.0, c = 765.0 pm, Z = 2). In (PPh4)2[VOCl4]-4CH3CN (space group P T, a = 1281.3, b = 1276.6, c = 1841.5 pm, a = 84.11°, ß = 83.96, 7 = 64.31°, Z = 2) the square pyramid of the VOCl42-ion is distorted towards a trigonal-bipyramidal shape (C2v symmetry) ha ving trans-C 1VC1 angles of 145.88° and 156.87° and 0=V-C1 angles of 107° and 101.6°. In (PPh4)2[VOCl4]-2CH3CN (space group P \ a = 1017.1, b = 1029.3, c = 2416.0, a = 77.74°, ß = 79.99°, 7 = 78.94°, Z = 2), the VOCl4_~ structure is even closer to trigonal-bipyramidal, with trans-C1VC1 angles of 133.25° and 165.80° and 0=V-C1 angles of 113.3° and 97°.

	Abstract	Powder-EPR studies at T = 295 K and T = 12 K on the unstable gold(II) complex [(n-C4H9)4N ]2[AuII(mnt)2] diamagnetically diluted by the corresponding Ni" complex are reported. Due to (i) the small anisotropy of the g and the I J7Au hyperfine tensor AAu, and (ii) the large 197 Au quadrupole interaction the powder spectra possess a very complex pattern. Using different EPR frequencies -S band (2.4 GHz), X band (9.5 GHz), Q band (35 GHz) and W band (94 GHz) -the spectra could be analyzed successfully. All spectra were simulated with a computer program which diagonalizes the spin-Hamiltonian matrix exactly.

	Abstract	Dimesitylarsenic Bromide, Enneabromotriarsenate(III), Magnesium-tetrakis(acetonitrile)-bis(tetrahydrofuran) Cation, X-Ray Data Irrespective of the ratio of the reactands AsBr3 and mesMgBr (mes = mesityl), two pro ducts are formed in THF solution: dimesitylarsenic bromide and a magnesium bromoarsenate of composition M gAs5B r\|7 • n THF. The latter, on crystallization from acetonitrile, yields [Mg(NCMe)4(THF)2][As3B rn ]. The anion of this salt can be described as derived from three face sharing AsBr6 octahedra. The lone pair of electrons at the As atoms is stereochemically not active.

Follo wing the Markovnikov rule, a chiral methine group is formed as a bridge between silicon and boron.

	Abstract	The Q-dicarbonylmonooximes 1 and 11 do not react as simple "CH-acidic-compounds" in the Mannich condensation. In a concerted reaction with aminals in absolute dioxane they give rise to the products 4a -e and 12a -e with better practicability and much higher yields compared with the conventional method. The Mannich bases with a cyclic amine part show in the dehydrogenation, using mercury-EDTA, a neighbouring group participation of the oxime in type 4 and of the oxime or amide function in 12 yielding cyclized products. For the reaction a plausible mechanism is proposed.
