Title    Isolation of Flaviolin from the Potato Culture Solution of Phoma wasabiae Yokogi
Abstract    Naphthoquinone, Flaviolin, Phoma wasabiae Yokogi Flaviolin was found in the blackish potato culture solution of Phoma wasabiae. Phoma wasabiae is a disease mold in Eutrema wasabi Maximowicz afflicted with black leg disease (Sumi-iri-byö) 1 . Previously, the activities of mold's enzyme were studied, and it turned out that the mold had polyphenol oxidase and peroxidase ac-tivities 2 . Moreover, the process of color change of the potato culture solution was studied with the change of composition of medium 3 . In this report, the isolation of flaviolin, which was found in the process of color changing of the medium, is de-scribed.

Title    Reaktionen von l-Phenyl-3-alkoxycarbonyl-triazenen mit Lewis-Säuren in Benzol* Reactions of 1-Phenyl-3-alkoxycarbonyl-triazenes with Lewis Acids in Benzene
Abstract    l-Phenyl-3-alkoxycarbonyl-triazenes, No-Fragmentation Reactions, Electrophilic Substitution Reactions 1-Phenyl-3-alkoxycarbonyl-triazenes react with aluminiumchloride in benzene by elimination of nitrogen, especially to alkylbenzenes and diphenyl; anilin is formed with practical constant yield, independently of the alkyl group. On the basis of these experi-mental results during the reaction of alkoxycarbonyl azides with benzene under the influence of Lewis acids triazenes are not formed as intermediates.

Abstract    NQR, Rhenium, Perrhenates The 187 Re-NQR transitions of TIReOi and their temperature dependencies were measured. In the temperature range, in which TlReC>4 is crystallizing in pseudo scheelite structure, one obtains normal temperature coefficients with asymmetry parameters rj = 0.3. For T < 200 K, however, another modification with r\ = 0 was found. For LiReC>4 • 2 H2O complex 187 Re and 185 Re NQR spectra with 16 transition frequencies were measured and discussed.

Title    Crystal Structures of the High Pressure Phases ZnAs and CdAs
Abstract    The structure of the high pressure compounds ZnAs and CdAs have been determined using Guinier film and counter methods. The compounds are orthorhombic, (space group Pbca; Z = 8), with a = 5.679(2) A, 6 = 7.277(4) A, c = 7.559(4) A and a = 5.993(4) Ä, b = 7.819(6) A,c = 8.011(6) A respectively. ZnAs and CdAs are isostructural with the normal pressure phases ZnSb and CdSb, which are related to the high pressure phase Si III. Structural relationships are discussed includ-ing the Si Ill-diamond structure relationship.

Title    BindungsVerhältnisse in Berlinerblau-Analoga des Typs Fe [M B (CN)6] Chemical Bonding in Prussian Blue Analogs of the Type Fe[M B (CN)6]
Abstract    Iron(III)-hexacyanocobaltate, Iron(III)-hexacyanorhodate, Iron(III)-hexacyanoiridate, X-ray, IR All three compounds of the type Fe[M B (CN)6] (M B = Co, Rh and Ir) crystallize in the face-centered cubic system: space group Fm3m (Oh 5), Z = 4. The lattice constants increase in the order Fe[Co(CN)6] (10.16±0.01 A) < Fe[Rh(CN)6] (10.42±0.01 A) < Fe[Ir(CN)6] (10.43±0.01 A). The infrared spectra showed four absorption bands which are assigned to the normal vibrations: RMB_C', VMB-CN and vPe.N. The observation of Fe-N stretching bands substantiates the existence of chemical bonding between iron and nitrogen atoms of the cyanide ligands. The intensive absorption bands around 26,5 kK are assign-able to the charge transfer between Fe(III) and [M B (CN)e] 3 ~ groups, while the absorption bands in the UV region are assigned to the ligand field transitions of the [M B (CN)e] 3-moiety. The Mössbauer spectra gave a single absorption line with a relatively small isomer shift, which is explained in terms of the formation of a-bonding between Fe-N.

Abstract    Electrochemical Synthesis, Anodic a-Hydroxylation, Isobutyraldehyde The electrolysis of isobutyraldehyde in the presence of water in alkaline methanol leads to a-hydroxy-isobutyraldehyde-dimethylacetal (1). The reaction probably occurs via the oxidation of the base conjugate to isobutyraldehyde to the carbenium ion and the sub-sequent nucleophilic addition of hydroxyl ion present in the electrolyte.

Title    Photoelektronenspektren von Verbindungen der V. Hauptgruppe, III 1 Methylhalogenverbindungen MeEHal2 und Me2EHal Photoelectron Spectra of Group V Compounds, III 1 Methylhalogen Compounds MeEHal2 and Me2EHal
Abstract    The He I photoelectron spectra of certain MeEHal2 and MeaEHal compounds (E = (N), P, As, Sb; Hal = (F), Cl, Br, J; Me = CH3) are interpreted in terms of a "composite molecule" approach derived for C3v/Cs systems. Although an "internal standard" is missing here, substituent group-orbitals (njjai, C-H) may be classified with respect to their orien-tations in space (R, V, T). Ionisation energies are assigned according to this assumption. PE data of the isoelectronic EMe3/EHal3 compounds and of related molecules (Me2EH, MePH2, CF3PBr2) as well as EHMO calculations with partial inclusion of spin orbit coupling are used to confirm the assignments given for Me2EHal/MeEHal2 series. Correlations between PE ionisation energies (e.g. nE (IE)) and molecular or atomic properties are critically revised and discussed.

Title    Pt(NH3)2(SCN)2J: Ein Platinkomplex mit gemischter Wertigkeit Pt(NH3)2(SCN)2I: A Mixed Valence Platinum Compound
Abstract    Pt(NH3)2(SCN)2 dissolved in liquid SO2 reacts with molecular iodine to yield a green lustrous solid of stoichiometry Pt(NH3)2(SCN)2I. The compound is diamagnetic in the solid state and in solution and has to be taken for a platinum(II, IV) mixed valence compound, therefore. Chemical and physical evidence so far suggest a linear chain solid with either iodide-bridged metal complex chains or metal complex stacks with parallel triiodide chains.
