Title    Stoffwechselprodukte von Mikroorganismen, 1461 Massenspektrometrische Identifizierung von 3-Cyclohexenylglycin im Mass Spectrometric Identification of 3-Cyelohexenylglycine from Streptomyces tendae Mass Spectrometry, Retro-Diels-Alder Reaction, Amino Acid Antagonists
Abstract    From the culture filtrates of Streptomyces tendae (Tü 901) a ninhydrin positive substance was isolated, which was identified as 3-cyclohexenylglycine by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry of some volatile derivatives.

Abstract    spectra of paramagnetic compounds are frequently disturbed by side bands. This problem is circumvented by variation of the nuclear single sideband technique or by application of a variable sideband oscillator. Both methods are de monstrated by the 1H spectrum of Bis-(h5-ethylcyclopentadienyl)cobalt.

Abstract    The 13C chemical shifts of several alkyl-substituted pyrylium salts are presented. Charge densities in the isoelectronic series benzene, pyridine, pyridinium cation and pyrylium cation, calculated from IN D O M. O. theory, are shown to correlate well with the ring carbon 13C chemical shifts. The effect of alkyl substitution on ring carbon 13C chemical shifts in the pyrylium salts are shown to correlate with those of the alkyl benzenes.

On the basis of deuterium labelling experiments one mech anism involving an enol as an intermediate could be excluded. The identification of twelve further radio-lysis products from ribose-5-phosphate is reported.

Title    A Study o f the Kinetics o f the Basic Zinc Carbonate Formation Reaction
Abstract    Absorption A study of the kinetic parameters involved in the formation o f basic zinc carbonate by the action of carbon dioxide and water vapour on zinc oxide has been undertaken. A contracting sphere model is used to explain the reaction but its applicability is dependent upon the carbon dioxide pressure used. Water vapour pressures close to saturated water vapour pressure are necessary for the reaction to proceed and the role of the necessary near-liquid surface water layer in the absorption reaction is discussed.
